Anyone know what rod stats I should be looking for with regards to healing or smiting.

First, keep in mind that there's no "best" weapon, only what works best for you. Personally, I use Stormray (5>50, 20% fast cast Healing), as opposed to a sword or an axe, because I like the cast bonus, which isn't available on non-caster weapons. For the offhand, I use the 20/20 collector focus.

I'd use:
a) either the Wayward Wand (+5 E, 20% HSR Healing) from Divine Path
b) or the Healing Rod (+5 E^50, 20% HSR Healing) from weaponsmith Nago in Wajjun Bazaar

AFAIK there is no E+5/H+30 wand for monks from any crafter or collector.

Why do all the monk rods look ugly, they lack so much design!

If you do not like the looks of monk-specific wands, you can always try some of the generic skins, like Eternal Flame Wands, Jellyfish Wands, Zodiac Scepters, etc. Some of those look pretty decent.

Ever since I started monking I have been trying to find a nice scepter/wand to use. I have not found a nice healing platinum wand, so I just use a Rajazan and a healing off hand. Also works nice as a 55 main hand.

hmmm... i use a Hale Zodiac Staff of Healing... but that wont help ya...

Even tho they seem cheap in tradeWars-> Kephkets is really really good staff if you run protection.. again, i doubt thatll help you... just sayin.

get a collectors' healing staff with 20/20, then add a 20%+1healing rune and a max Hale rune ... although in the long run that might cost you more than any green you might run across...

and btw-> wth is a Jellyfish Wand lol/? Never seen that one yet :P

it really depends on what you want.....I suggest checking out guildwiki collectors lists and seeing if maybe one of them has the item you are looking for...or the weaponsmith list too has a list of all the weapons made for you....and remember all staves can be modded so if you find a nice staff but just no +30 you can add that as either a hale head or a wrapping (fortitude?)...for a +60 health overall.....or you can check out the list of green items and see if one of those strikes your fancy...good luck

Depends on your purpose really - if it's just for PvE then the +5^50 energy wands near kanieng centre are probably the best, 5k to craft but they're worth the money. If it's for PvP though, you really can't beat the +10 armour sword while enchanted that you get from presearing with a +5 armour +45hp offhand.

That's generally for boon protting though where you're constantly enchanted and targetted by other people

Personally, I wouldn't recommend adding a +1 Healing mod, simply because it usually doesn't make that big of a difference. The bonus averages out to be 1 extra point of HP per heal or something like that. I'd much rather throw on an Insightful mod instead.

LoL, a Jellyfish Wand is one that looks like a jellyfish, duh!

Stormray actually has the jellyfish skin. Jellyfish Wands drop a lot in the Jade Sea.

If you want a one-handed weapon that provides health, then you're looking for either a +5 Energy Sword or Axe with a +30 Health Pommel.

You lose your ability to range attack, but as a monk you're not relying a whole heck of alot on that ability (and you can always switch off to another weapon set if you need to).
